How to Extract Contact Details from Wix (and Why You Shouldn’t Stop There)

September 04, 20254 min read

Wix has made it easier than ever to spin up a website. With a drag-and-drop editor and hundreds of templates, small businesses can get online quickly without needing a developer.

But here’s the thing: Wix is first and foremost a website builder. It looks good, it functions fine for presenting your brand, but when it comes to what happens after someone fills in a form or enquires on your site, things get messy.

If you’ve ever wondered how to extract contact details from Wix – here’s what you need to know.

How Wix Stores Enquiry Data

When a visitor fills in a contact form on your Wix site, their details are captured inside the Wix dashboard. You can access them via:

  1. The Wix CRM (Contacts) – found under the “Customer Management” tab.

  2. Form submissions – usually tied to the “Wix Forms” app.

  3. Email notifications – Wix will typically send you an email copy of the form submission.

That’s all fine – but the problem is, these details often stay locked inside Wix unless you manually export them or integrate with another system.

Extracting Contact Details

If you want to move your enquiry data out of Wix, you have a few options:

  • Manual Export – go to “Contacts,” select all, and export to a CSV file. From there, you can upload it to another system.

  • Zapier / Integrations – connect Wix Forms to another app (like Google Sheets or an email platform) to automatically push new enquiries elsewhere.

  • Copy & Paste – not ideal, but many small businesses still forward email notifications into another system.

This solves the short-term issue of getting data out – but it doesn’t solve the bigger problem: what happens next.

Another Option: Webhooks

You can also use webhooks to move contact details from Wix to HighLevel. A webhook is essentially a way of sending enquiry data directly from your Wix form into another system the moment it’s submitted.

In theory, this is a smart way to bridge the gap. But in practice, if your website has multiple forms (contact, quote request, newsletter sign-up, booking enquiry, etc.), it quickly becomes complicated.

Without an adequate coding and naming system to keep track of which form connects to which webhook, it’s almost impossible to get clear reporting. You may capture the data, but you lose visibility on:

  • Which forms are converting best

  • Where your leads are actually coming from

  • Which marketing campaigns are paying off

That means you end up with a pile of leads in a CRM but very little insight into what’s working – and what’s not.

Embedding HighLevel Forms on Wix

Another way to make sure every enquiry flows straight into HighLevel is by embedding a HighLevel form directly on your Wix site using HTML code.

The advantage? Every single lead goes straight into your HighLevel CRM — no exporting, no zaps, no missed opportunities. You know that every enquiry can be followed up automatically, meaning no lead ever slips through the cracks.

The trade-off? HighLevel forms don’t always match the exact style and theme of your Wix template. They’ll work perfectly from a functionality perspective, but sometimes they look slightly different to your site’s built-in forms.

For most businesses, that’s a small compromise compared to the peace of mind of knowing that all enquiries are being captured and followed up.

The Big Gap: Following Up Enquiries

A name and email address in a CSV isn’t going to win you business. What matters is how you follow up.

  • Did the lead get an immediate confirmation email?

  • Did they receive a text reminder?

  • Are they being nurtured with value-driven content over the next 30 days?

  • Are they booked into your diary without you lifting a finger?

Wix simply isn’t built for this. It wasn’t designed to be a CRM, sales pipeline, or marketing automation system.

Why You Need HighLevel (via MarketerM8)

This is where HighLevel comes in. While Wix builds the shop window, HighLevel runs the engine room.

With MarketerM8 (our UK-supported version of HighLevel), you can:

  • Instantly capture every enquiry and route it into a central CRM.

  • Trigger automated email and SMS follow-ups – no more cold leads going stale.

  • Book appointments straight into your calendar.

  • Track opportunities in a sales pipeline so you know exactly where each prospect is.

  • Automate reviews, reminders, and even AI-powered conversations.

In short – Wix gets you online, but HighLevel makes sure your enquiries turn into paying customers.

Final Thoughts

If you already have a Wix website that generates leads, we’re not suggesting you rip it out and start again. Wix does its job as a website builder.

The problem is this: only around 1–2% of your enquiries are ready to buy right now. Another 20% want to buy, but not the very second they fill in your form. If you don’t have a system to keep in touch, that 20% quietly drifts away to your competitors.

That’s where the power of HighLevel (via MarketerM8) comes in. With automated WhatsApp messages, emails, texts, direct mail, and other forms of follow-up, you can stay front of mind and convert those leads into paying customers over time.

In short, Wix helps you get the lead. HighLevel helps you win the customer.
